Day 30 (September 19, 2006) - Yakima, WA
<<^>>
Everything seems off to a bad start in Washington state... We would like to cross over to Canada while visiting Seattle, but for doing so, Petr needs a special stamp on his passport and we can only get it in Seattle at an immigration office. Since we could not proceed by the northern route, we decided to go south, visit Mt. Rainier first, then head up to Seattle/Vancouver/Victoria and then continue. For this reason we are driving to Yakima tonight, an agricultural city smacked in the middle of the state, with not much going for it I am afraid. It's I-90 all the way. The last stretch on I-82 was bathed in orange light as we approached Yakima.

Clouds in the sunset.

It rained a bit, then the sun came out and with it the rainbow!

Menacing clouds on one side...

The sun shining through on the other.

At some point, there was a double rainbow.

More orange skies.

and some more.

That's it for today!
